#tbt My First Trip to L.A.

I just went to LA for the first time EVER last month and yes, it’s true: THE TRAFFIC IS REAL. It is SO REAL. I wasn’t even on the road during rush hour and being in the car for that long was insane. So make sure you have some kick ass playlists ready to go! Shoutout to my best friend and future roommate, Jenny, for driving me everywhere and singing along! I enjoyed playing dress up for a few days (aka I wore some colors and patterns since I always wear neutrals in New York) and I was reminded of how peaceful and relaxing those ocean breezes can be. I will definitely be visiting again soon! Here are some of the highlights from my trip!

Malibu Farm

Local and organic food + an ocean view + mason jar drinks = MY LITERAL HEAVEN. If you plan on swinging through Malibu, I highly recommend eating here!

Getty Villa

Inspired by ancient Roman architecture, the Villa is a recreation of a first century country house complete with mosaics, museum spaces, BEAUTIFUL courtyard and fountains. Walking the grounds immediately brought me back to my history classes (Greek and Roman eras were my favorite) and I may or may not have totally pretended to be Roman royalty as I walked through the sprawling gardens and columnar entryways.

 Alfred Tea Room

The perfect little tea and coffee spot on Melrose Place with sassy signage and aesthetically pleasing pink!

Venice Canals

It was super overcast on my last day in California, but I had to swing by Venice on my way out.  If I were to pick a dream neighborhood of Los Angeles, it would be the Venice Canals…not that I’ve experienced enough of LA to know which areas I like best BUT… I dream of curling up on a porch with a good book, a glass of wine, and some water views. Such a peaceful place.

This was a great first visit in my books! There’s so much more to do and see in beautiful Los Angeles, and I can’t wait to return!
