Nothing screams FALL like frolicking through apple orchards and pumpkin patches with your best friends on a beautiful afternoon. This year, we went to Wilken’s Fruit & Fir Farm up in the Hudson Valley and we had such a blast! I am already looking forward to planning next year’s getaway!
Take the 1 Train to 225th Street.
Walk across the street to the Marble Hill Metro North Station.
Buy a single/roundtrip ticket to/from the Peekskill Station.
Take the Croton Harmon Line to Tarrytown.
Transfer to the Poughkeepsie Line and get off at Peekskill.
Unfortunately, there is no shuttle service to the farm, but we got lucky and an empty cab pulled up right as we got there. (Thank you, Universe?)
It was about a 15 min cab ride that cost $30, so bring friends and split the cost!
Tip: Call Luz’s Taxi Service ahead of time and schedule a pick up/drop off time!

Pros and Cons
Pros: Winery, Less crowded than we were expecting, Breathtaking views of Hudson Valley, Chocolate dipped apple cider doughnuts, Christmas tree farm, Legit photoshoot opportunities.
Cons: As with any orchard I have ever been to… SO MANY BEES…like, so many that everyone was running around the farm like idiots. Besides the bees, this orchard was farther from the train station than we thought, which made transportation a little bit more difficult and slightly more expensive.
