Livin Life // August 2018

And just like that, summer is over (I keep associating the end of summer with kids going back to school so I’m going to stick with that) and I’m kind of sad about it but also ready for the fall aka the best season ever. This month was beautifully low key compared to June and July and I have enjoyed every moment of it!

August 2018

Friends

Weekend in Rhinebeck, New York. My girlfriends and I snuck up to the Hudson Valley in Mid-August for some much needed girl time and relaxation. My friend’s boss kindly let us use her house for the weekend so we had the whole place to ourselves. We didn’t set alarms and we spent the day talking, cooking, playing cards, swimming, and obviously drinking wine. It was so nice to unplug and spend some amazing quality time with my best friends.

This amazing masterpiece of deliciousness was crafted by the ladies (I did the dishes lol). On the menu was an arugula watermelon salad with balsamic and goat cheese, and the main course was a pan-grilled portobello mushroom burger with herb-infused marinade and sweet potato fries on the side. *drooling*

Work

Private Actor Consultations. This month I’ve been cranking out more consultations and it’s been absolutely wonderful! I’m super happy with the work my clients and I have been doing together and I’m excited to see their progress as we move forward.

Shows. There have been a handful of shows I was able to see this month (Hamilton / Head Over Heels / 24 Hour Plays: Nationals) to support my office’s clients, which I always love because it is so cool to see them do their thing on stage.

My client, Andrew Chappelle, went on for Burr in Hamilton! This show is SO INCREDIBLE! It has taken me YEARS to see it, but the hype is so real!

Food + Dranks

Buceo 95. This little UWS gem boasts delicious tapas and wine! Every single dish I had was incredible and I loved tasting a handful of wines. And the waitstaff was SO NICE!

Media Wine Bar. This is my go-to spot for happy hours in Hell’s Kitchen because UMM $5 MASON JAR SANGRIAS!!! My best friend, Courtney, and I meet up here to catch up on all things life and love and work and all the other things!

The Red Cat. Super cute restaurant in Chelsea (underneath the High Line!) with yummy cocktails and delicious entrees! I had the crispy skin salmon on a bed of jalapeño corn with sugar snaps and shiitake mushrooms.

Bourbon Street. Another Hell’s Kitchen/Theatre Row staple that I love! Grabbed a post-show cocktail here while listening to live music. Easy-going atmosphere with delicious drinks!

The Standard Grill. Fun Meatpacking locale with gorg interior AND EXTERIOR vibes! Had a few glasses of rose here on a hot summer day and it did not disappoint! Be sure to check out the Standard Biergarten outback, too! Located below The Standard Hotel and The High Line and next door to The Whitney Museum.

ToroAnother amazing tapas spot with massive industrial ceilings and views of the West Side highway and river!
FYI: The Sangria pitcher is HUGE!

Saggio. This cute little hole Italian joint is up in my neighborhood and I could not love it more. The pasta is delicious, the cocktails are refreshing, and the candles and dimmed lights make it feel very romantic and relaxed. You  must go!

Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen. This Chelsea spot is great for after work happy hours. I met up with an old high school buddy that just moved to the city! We enjoyed catching up over a couple Gunpowder Gin Spritz’s (Gin, Wolffer Rose Cider, and Fresh Grapefruit).

On The Horizon

September can not come soon enough! I’ll be kicking off the month with a quick Massachusetts weekender with Mom, and closing it out at one of my client’s weddings on the 29th! I’ve got a handful of client shows to attend next month and I will also be starting my evening TV/Film Producing course at NYU. I can’t wait!
